課程介紹｜為什麼要學梵語，因為要正確的了解佛教義理。
佛教常常說的不要「分別」這個詞，但羅什譯的《維摩詰經》裡卻是鼓勵要「分別」：「能善分別諸法相，於第一義而不動。」不同的譯者剛好用了同一個中文來翻譯完全不同的兩個梵文。簡單的翻譯問題當成義理的深奧。
學梵語不難。透過語感的培養，課堂朗讀，來進入古代佛典的世界。本課與時俱進，運用 AI 工具，來幫助同學更方便的學習。一學期後，你會親手翻開《金剛經》梵本，一句一句讀下去。
佛教詮釋學

課程介紹｜一：回覆批評思考的原則用來看印度與中國傳統佛教詮釋系統。
二：談討今代佛教學術研究的傾向，包含多種經典語言之文獻以及漢英佛典翻譯。
三：學習現代宗教與哲學詮釋學思想，如林鎮國、賴賢宗、吳汝鈞等之詮釋學。
四：從以上構想與施設未來全球佛教、佛學之全方面詮釋應為何。
佛教歷史與文獻專題

課程介紹｜The broader topic of this course is the relationship between Buddhist texts and Buddhist history.
Historical information is often extracted and interpreted from texts, but this is not without its problems. This semester, we will be looking specifically at the question of the origins of Buddha via Bronkhorst’s important thesis of ‘Greater Magadha culture’, a subject that has potentially massive implications for our entire understanding of the source and origins of Buddhist tradition. All our readings are in English, thus the positions under examination are those which are predominant in English-language scholarship.

課程介紹｜This course covers the basics of Buddhist meditation from the early Indian period to early Chinese period.
We will look at a general overview of meditation in this time. We will read texts more specifically focused on the grounds of mindfulness, breath meditation, and loving kindness / compassion.
